Dress for Events at Government House

Dress is determined by the occasion. During the day time, business suits are the appropriate dress for meetings and courtesy calls. Otherwise Invitations to functions will state the mode of dress. Medals and national decorations are to be worn for ceremonial occasions unless otherwise specified.

It has been noted that some guests who are invited by the Governor-General to attend a function at Government House do not pay attention to the dress code as indicated on the invitation.  In an effort to discourage this, the dress code, as stated on the invitation will be enforced and persons not suitability attired will not be allowed entrance to an event at Government House.
